A Re-Introduction

If you've been following me for a while now, you know this is the third business name I've had since I started shooting back in 2008.

My first go at it, I thought of A Thousand Words Photography, for some obvious (and not so obvious), cliché reasons. In 2013, I became Three Little Lambz Photography. Another obvious reason. In case it isn't obvious and you're actually new here, it was a nod to my three littles and I was super excited about it. Swore we were done having kids and then..surprise...Aiden came along. I never loved the idea of Four Little Lambz Photography. So, I left it. People often asked when I'd change the name. I just wasn't feelin it.

Fast forward to 2017, Aiden is a year old. We have clearly outgrown the three in Three Little Lambz. I really should consider changing it. So, that's what I did.

I considered it.

For a year.

I went back and forth with cutesy names. Liked none.

That's the problem. I get bored with cutesy.

Here we are, almost two years after three became four -Landed on my own name. It's one I can't outgrow right?

So, it's finally time. It finally happened. I finally did it. I became myself. And you know what? I'm kinda nervous to be my own "brand". There are all these right and wrong ways to do it. I just want to be me. And do what I do. I've been a wife for eleven years, a stay at home mom for ten and a photographer on the side for just as long. I really like to think there is an art to breaking the rules (and there are a lot of rules in photography, in writing, in life). I only know what I love. I'm wingin' the whole thing. All that matters to me is recognizing the heart behind it. My favorite shots are the un-posed, in between, candid moments; even if they’re overexposed or blurry, because there really is beauty in the chaos! I'm just still learning how to embrace it in my own life. And, maybe, along the way, I'll inspire you to be you too. It's cool. We can be rebels together.
